Mason Films is a Toronto-based production company created to bring Canadian stories to the world. Founded on a unique blend of sharp financial acumen and a keen eye for creative, commercially viable screenplays, we produce rich, powerful films designed for the cinematic experience that proudly showcases Canadian natural beauty and culture.

The company is led by Brian Mason, whose extensive industry experience includes working alongside top Canadian producers at Epitome Pictures, DHX Media (now WildBrain Toronto), and Architect Films (now Nikki Ray Media). Brian further honed his feature film producing expertise on acclaimed projects such as North of Normal (TIFF 2022) and Who’s Yer Father? (AIFF 2023). As a designated CPA, CA, Brian leads Mason Films with a business-oriented approach to delivering high-quality, commercially successful scripted projects.

Mason Films’ first production was Drive Back Home, starring Alan Cumming and coproduced with Woods Entertainment, and is now streaming on Crave after its theatrical release in 2024. After premiering at the Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival 2024, it won the Best Canadian Narrative Feature at the Calgary International Film Festival 2024, and the Artistic Director’s Award at San Diego International Film Festival 2024. It has since screened at festivals around the world, including at Palm Springs International Film Festival, Frameline, and BFI Flare.

Mason Films is an active member of the Canadian Media Producers Association. For Mason Films, building and maintaining partnerships, through collaboration with world-class producers, distributors, financiers and broadcasters, is key to our growth strategy designed to succeed in today’s marketplace.
